Nayashen Naidoo began his study of martial arts at the age of 8.
He studied Shotokan Karate and advanced to compete in various Kumite tournaments. He later proceeded to study various Japanese styles of martial arts which included Shito-Ryu Karate, Kyokushin Karate & Ninjitsu. He later took up full contact Kickboxing and Muay Thai studying up to instructor level. His love for martial arts often saw him studying different styles simultaneously which taught him that no one style is better than another, the only difference in all martial arts styles is the practitioners. Looking to broaden his knowledge of martial arts he began learning various Chinese combat arts. He spent time studying Shaolin and Wudang styles of Kung Fu. He developed a passion and love for the Kung styles of Baguazhang and Tai Chi and has focused his personal journey in these styles. After Being traditionally trained for many years he was instructed by his teacher to continue with the lineage and spread his knowledge of Kung Fu which led to the establishment of Dragon Palm Martial Arts. As a teacher and school head Nayashen still considers himself a student of the art. He trains on a regular basis with his teacher Paul Cluver as well as travelling to China to train with the current lineage head Master He Jinbao.
